PaperCon 2010
Panther Exhibits at PaperCon 2010 - Atlanta, GA was a wonderful choice for this year’s TAPPI PaperCon Conference and Trade Fair. From the unique boutiques of the Virginia-Highlands to the remarkable Atlanta Aquarium, Atlanta was polished for our visit. Panther was delighted to be a part of the festivities that come with being a participant/exhibitor at this event. As an active member of the TAPPI organization, we readily stepped up to sponsor the Annual Runnability Fun Run.
Numerous discussions and sessions were in full swing showing many signs to support the fact that the paper industry is turning around with renewed enthusiasm. Namely, turnout was up by close to 60% which represents attendees from 40 states and 25 countries. What an encouraging sign!
Once again Panther folks met up with old friends in the industry and gathered several new associates along the way. For us, that was the highlight of the TAPPI event. As we all know, companies cannot survive in any industry without diligent connection to their clients and listening to their needs and concerns. At Panther we strive to do just that – stay in tune with the needs of the ever-changing paper industry. We hear you and we want to help keep your operations successful.
As the TAPPI event was winding down, it became clear to this observer, how great the paper industry individuals truly are when it comes to banding together to resolve troubling production and quality issues. Cheers to renewed optimism!
Hope to see you all in Cincinnati for PaperCon 2011!
PaperCon 2009
Bill Henry, currently retired from Smurfit-Stone as Manufacturing Manager for Coated Boxboard Mills, spoke at PaperCon ’09 which was held in St Louis, MO. Bill presented a paper on feed forward control, a critical yet often overlooked strategy for monitoring and maintaining paper quality while improving a mill’s profitability.
Over the past 17 years Panther has successfully implemented and proven the value of this unique approach. Bill addressed the basics involved with feed forward control, its challenges and the impact it can have on paper quality and financial return.
The session was titled Control Performance Indices and Their Applications. It took place Monday, June 1.
Panther would like to thank Bill for his willingness to share his time, talents and knowledge at PaperCon ‘09.
PaperCon 2008
Panther enjoyed the opportunity of participating in this year’s PaperCon conference. The conference took place in early May in Dallas, TX. This year’s event was held at the downtown Sheraton, a short distance from the historic Dealey Plaza where John F. Kennedy was shot.
The focus of this year’s conference was Sustainable Profits and Performance for the pulp, paper and board industry. For the PIMA program, leading paper industry experts delivered information regarding the latest strategic thinking and management practices. The TAPPI technical program provided peer-reviewed papers which covered the current advances in papermaking and coating, and how these advances can improve operations.
Our Sales and Marketing staff enjoyed showing our guests the new enhancements to ProcessAnalyzer™, along with the rest of our product line of MillTools®, TestCentral®, and ICIS™. We would like to thank those of you who took the time to stop by and visit us. It’s always a pleasure to see old friends and we appreciated the opportunity to meet new guests who visited our booth.
We are looking forward to PaperCon 2009 which will be held the end of May in St. Louis, MO. Please come by our booth to see what’s new and to receive your free gift. We hope to see you there!
