MillTools live at Ox Industries White Pigeon, Michigan

White Pigeon, Michigan  –  MillTools manufacturing execution system (MES) and TestCentral quality tracking went live at the Ox Industries paper mill in White Pigeon, Michigan on Saturday, February 9, 2021. Transition of the mill to MillTools and TestCentral was marked completion of the first phase of a two-phase project to convert two paper mills to Ox Industries’ MES quality tracking software of choice for all Ox paper mills. Installation included Panther’s TestCentral comprehensive quality tracking system in all paper laboratories, MillTools MES, numerous roll line automation solutions and dozens of machine and business interfaces developed for WestRock by Panther Systems.

“Panther understands and shares our customer’s vision,” said Dan Schott, Technical Sales for Panther Systems. “Instituting the same process, business rules and reporting at all Ox Industries mills has contributed greatly to their success. It’s not just standardization. They use our software and interfaces to manufacture, ship, invoice and problem-solve every day.”

Ox purchased the mill from Graphic Packaging International in June 2020 and converted the paper machine from clay-coated recycled paperboard (CRB) to high-strength uncoated recycled paperboard (URB). After a swift and successful go-live event at White Pigeon, Panther is now installing and configuring a similar system for the Ox Industries mill in Carthage, New York. This mill is scheduled for conversion to MillTools and TestCentral mid-May 2021.

Speaking for Panther Systems, Technical Sales Specialist Dan Schott remarked, “We’ve taken the time to understand what Ox wants to accomplish. We don’t hard-sell anything. Instead and listen look for the best ways that Panther can help. We work with everyone from their executive team to mill managers, superintendents and engineers, and these lasting relationships make all the difference. Panther understands and shares our customer’s vision. Instituting the same process, business rules and reporting at all Ox Industries mills has contributed greatly to their success. It’s not just standardization. They use our software, interfaces and advanced process controls to manufacture, ship, invoice and problem-solve every day.”

Panther Systems continues to partner with Ox Industries and other pulp, paper, converting and nonwoven manufacturers to development new software technologies for data, automation and advanced process controls. Panther’s experience in North America, Australia and Eastern Europe fuels the company’s ambition to develop software that benefits the world.
