Matrix is a set of logic-based trim optimization and automatic scheduling tools for continuous manufacturing and load planning. Planners are able to optimize and schedule production and loads in seconds.
We developed Matrix to give planners a superior method to generate, compare and select multiple optimized trim solutions without tedious and error-prone manual calculations. This flexible solution gives planners a more effective way to deal with the complexities of scheduling and optimizing production. Additional load planning capabilities reduce workload of planners and improve loading and shipping operations. And now, we are able to advance that philosophy even farther.

Trim optimization made profitable and easy
Matrix Trim provides a multi-thread model that automatically seeks the best solutions for each order set being scheduled. The system evaluates alternative schedules and then displays up to seven trim solutions for the scheduler to their make an informed selection.
Matrix Trim learns! Periodically, the system evaluates recent history and adjusts the model to adapt for changes to order patterns and mixes.
Our system includes features for managing order sets and manually adjusting schedules. Matrix Trim includes standard models for special conditions that do not lend themselves to multi-thread problem solving.

Matrix Car Loading
Matrix Car Loading eliminates planning workload, reduces manufacturing/distribution costs, and maximizes customer service. Evaluating multiple trade-offs involved in load planning is fast and easy, assuring you of the best schedule for all operating conditions. Matrix Car Loading has been designed with the flexibility necessary to pay off, even when introducing last-minute changes.
This system gives you control to specify vehicle types, dimensions and capacities. Tie orders together in the same shipment, or schedule multiple vehicles and loads per order. Assign inventory rolls to a load. And evaluate trade-offs before committing to load plans such as trim loss, pattern/slitter changes, vehicle weights, order priority, and load continuity.
Matrix Car Loading generates the load plans, saving planners hours upon hours of precious time and transmits them to MillTools or other MES/shipping solution of choice.
What are the requirements for Matrix installation?
Matrix solutions are designed to be capable and scalable, so it’s ideal for a small mill or plant with a single production machine or large operations with multiple production lines. Out scheduling and problem-solving algorithms are developed to optimize Matrix software for speed. The solution operates on Windows workstations and utilizes customizable interfaces for integration.
